In short

The full arsenal of astrological math AstroNoir runs on your chart — far beyond twelve sun signs, accurate to a twentieth of a degree.

Think astrology is just twelve sun-sign paragraphs? Here's what AstroNoir's engine actually computes for your chart — most of it automatically, every time. If you came to be convinced this isn't a toy, read on.

The natal core

The fixed chart of your birth, taken apart from every angle:

  • Full natal chart — every planet and luminary, all twelve houses, and the aspects between them with proper orbs
  • Dignity, reception & sect — how strong, supported, and day/night-flavored each placement is
  • 140+ asteroids & sensitive pointsChiron, Lilith, the Nodes, Eros, Psyche, Vesta, Juno, Ceres and dozens more, tracked to the second
  • ~50 Arabic Lots (Parts) — including the Part of Fortune and Part of Spirit, the calculated points classical astrologers swore by
  • Draconic chart — the "soul" chart cast from the lunar nodes
  • Vertex & Anti-Vertex — the axis of fated encounters
  • Firdaria — the 75-year Persian time-lord system, day and night sequences
  • Zodiacal Releasing — the Hellenistic technique that maps your life into chapters and peak periods
50 classical Lots (Parts), computed for your exact chart — a Hellenistic calculation almost no app bothers with. A selection:

Timing & prediction

Your fixed chart, run forward through the moving sky:

  • Profections / Lord of the Year — which house and ruling planet govern each year of your life
  • Solar Return — your "birthday chart," current year and next
  • Lunar Returns — the next four monthly Moon-return charts
  • Mars, Jupiter & Saturn Returns — the big cyclical milestones
  • Eclipse activation — exactly which upcoming eclipses land on your chart, and when
  • Secondary Progressions — the slow, symbolic inner evolution of your chart over a lifetime
  • Solar Arc Directions — the directed-chart technique for pinpointing change

Eastern systems

A whole second tradition, computed in parallel:

  • BaZi — the Chinese Four Pillars: your year, month, day, and hour pillars with their elements
  • Feng Shui — your personal Qi field and its directional map

Relationships & questions (on demand)

When you add a person or ask a question, the engine casts even more:

  • Composite chart — the midpoint "relationship chart" for a pair, treated as a single entity
  • Davison chart — the time-and-space midpoint chart, a real chart for a real middle moment
  • Horary chart — a chart cast for the exact moment of a specific question, the oldest predictive art there is

How precise is all this?

Every position comes from Swiss Ephemeris, the professional astronomical standard. Across our entire user base, the Sun, Ascendant, Midheaven, and Vertex match professional ephemeris references to within 0.05° of a degree — a twentieth of a degree. This isn't approximate astrology dressed up; it's the real computation, done to professional tolerances.

Why bother with all of it?

Most apps compute one thing — your sun sign — and stop. AstroNoir runs this entire stack so that every reading, and the AI astrologer, is drawing on the deepest, most precise picture of your chart we can build. You'll never see most of these names in a daily horoscope. They're the machinery underneath — the reason the words feel specific instead of generic.
